
RRHA’s Affordable Housing Department is composed of Housing Management, Maintenance and Modernization, The Housing Choice Voucher Program and Resident Services. RRHA’s public housing communities and assisted housing programs provide quality, affordable housing for Richmonders. By offering programs and outreach services to residents of these communities, RRHA housing serves as a stepping stone to upward mobility and self-sufficiency.
Through the Affordable Housing Department ‘s Housing Management division, RRHA manages and maintains 16 housing developments for low-income families, nine developments for the low-income elderly and the disabled, and special housing units throughout the city of Richmond.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program (formally Section 8 Housing Assistance Program) provides rental assistance to qualified low-income persons / families in the private rental market. RRHA forms partnerships with landlords to provide quality, affordable housing throughout the metro Richmond area.
