The
Carver Conservation and Redevelopment Program
is a comprehensive plan to eliminate the
Carver neighborhood's dilapidated housing,
to rehabilitate substandard housing occupied
by low- and moderate-income households;
and to build new, affordable housing - all
leading to the revitalization of the area.
Throughout
the revitalization process RRHA has worked
closely with Carver residents and the Carver
Area Civic Improvement League.
The
result of this partnership and the Carver
Conservation and Redevelopment Plan?
- More
than 30 well-designed lease-purchase homeownership
homes have been built in Carver.
- RRHA
has provided more than 160 rehabilitation
loans and grants in the amount of $5 million.
- RRHA
has assisted 72 families and individuals
in moving from dilapidated housing to
standard housing.
- Carver
is one of six neighborhoods the city of
Richmond is focusing on in its Neighborhoods
in Bloom Program, an aggressive neighborhood
redevelopment and revitalization initiative.
