The West Cary Street Conservation and Redevelopment Area was designated by the City of Richmond in 1996, for the area bounded by Meadow Street and Plum Streets and Parkwood Avenue and West Cary Street.

RRHA and its community partners developed a revitalization plan that includes efforts to increase homeownership opportunities, rehabilitate structures that are architecturally significant, eliminate structurally unsafe structures and encourage and promote new construction of homes and multi-family housing to complement the neighborhood.

The area will also include a retail oriented commercial environment that will serve the diversified communities of that area - the Randolph community, the Upper and Lower Fan District, the Virginia Commonwealth University Campus and the area west to the Boulevard.

RRHA and its partners have recently developed The Lofts at Cary Place- a multi-family residential and commercial building offering beautiful loft condominiums and commercial space for business development.
