To strengthen public housing families and promote self-sufficiency, RRHA provides information, referral services and programs through the Resident Services Division. This division offers programs and services for youth, families and the elderly who reside in RRHA units. The CAPACITY BUILDING OFFICE at 200 Hospital Street is the headquarters for the RRHA Resident Services Division, with staff available on-site at many RRHA communities, and other programs and services are available at the Calhoun Family Investment Center at 436 Calhoun Street.

Social, Recreational and Supportive Services

Many of RRHA’s social, recreational and supportive services can be obtained at the Calhoun Family Investment Center, as well as through the community and on location at some public housing communities. RRHA’s social, recreational and supportive services also include popular youth programs.

Calhoun Family Investment Center

Residents can obtain many services at the Calhoun Family Investment Center, a one-stop center where residents can address family and community issues. The following agencies and services are located at Calhoun:

1. Richmond Health Department (immunization, health screening, WIC Program).
2. Strategies to Elevate People (STEP) (mentoring, employment services).
3. Food stamp office.
4. Richmond Department of Social Services
5. Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation
6. RRHA Youth Sports and Fine Arts Academy.

Economic and Educational Programs

RRHA’s economic and educational programs include free training in job and life skills at the RRHA Capacity Building Office Center. Economic and educational programs also include RRHA’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSSP).
