The Tomorrow's Promise Fund was
established in 1995 to assist bright,
hard-working students living in public
housing in continuing their education
after high school. Since 1995, Richmond
Redevelopment and Housing Authority
has awarded over $100,000 in financial
assistance to approximately 60 students.
These students represent distinguished
schools around Virginia as well as
the United States.
Who Is Eligible
for A Tomorrow's Promise Scholarship?
Any student who meets the following
criteria is eligible for a Tomorrow's
Promise scholarship:
- High school senior planning to
attend an accredited college or
vocational school
- Resident of RRHA public housing
- At least a 2.0 G.P.A
- Extra-Curricular Activities
- Strong Work Ethic
- Volunteerism and Community Service
When Are The Scholarships
Awarded?
Each year Richmond Redevelopment
and Housing Authority recognizes its
Tomorrow's Promise Scholarship recipients
as well as all public housing graduates
at its annual Graduation Ceremony
in mid-June. The actual scholarship
check is mailed in increments of $500/semester
to the recipient's school.
