RRHA's public housing communities provide decent, affordable housing for more than 10,000 Richmonders. By offering programs and outreach services to residents of these communities, RRHA public housing communities serve as a stepping stone to upward mobility and self-sufficiency.
RRHA is an Equal Housing Opportunity agency. It is the policy of the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority to provide services without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, familial status, physical handicap or disability.
RRHA operates 11 family public housing developments and eight elderly housing buildings throughout the city.
Communities offer property management, maintenance and various programs and services for residents. Each community is also represented by a Tenant Council organization.

PUBLIC HOUSING: Elderly Housing Program
RRHA maintains eight buildings for qualified low-income elderly and disabled Richmonders. All buildings offer on-site services staffs that provide counseling, referrals to services, recreational and cultural activities and other activities to help residents to remain independent. Wellness programs, field trips, and social activities help elderly residents stay active and involved.
