RRHA's public housing communities provide
decent, affordable housing for more than
10,000 Richmonders. By offering programs
and outreach services to residents of these
communities, RRHA public housing communities
serve as a stepping stone to upward mobility
and self-sufficiency.
Equal Housing Opportunity
It is the policy of the Richmond Redevelopment
and Housing Authority to provide services
without regard to race, color, religion,
national origin, ancestry, age, sex, familial
status, physical handicap or disability.
RRHA operates 16 public housing developments
throughout the city.
** Multiple properties scattered throughout
the city.
PUBLIC HOUSING: Elderly Housing Program
RRHA maintains nine buildings for low-income
elderly and disabled Richmonders*. All buildings
offer on-site services staffs that provide
counseling, referrals to services, recreational
and cultural activities and other activities
to help residents to remain independent.
Wellness programs, field trips, and social
activities help elderly residents stay active
and involved.
* Residents must meet federal and RRHA
requirements regarding age, disability,
and income.
