Community Enhancement
Programs
RRHA offers programs that make RRHA communities
and the larger Richmond community stronger.
These programs include drug prevention/elimination
programs, tenant councils and the Joint
Agency Service Integration Project (JASIP).
Drug Prevention/Elimination
Programs
Substance abuse counselors work with the
resident services staff to provide outreach,
intervention and recovery services to residents
struggling with substance abuse/addiction.
RRHA has been awarded drug elimination grants,
which the authority uses to fund efforts
to eliminate crime and drugs. These efforts
include resident patrols and increased police
services.
Tenant Councils
Residents in each development elect officers
who serve as liaisons between residents
and RRHA management and plan educational
and recreational events in their communities.
Tenant councils also work to find ways to
address important issues
that public housing communities face.
Joint Agency Service Integration
Project (JASIP)
The city of Richmond's Departments of Social
Services, Public Health and Juvenile Services
together provide a one-stop service approach
at sites in the Hillside, Whitcomb, Fairfield,
Mosby and Creighton communities. Residents
can conveniently and efficiently obtain
information about health; immunizations;
applications for entitlements; and links
to other services.
